My Brother’s, Blood: Illustrated Haiku

The sixty-eight poems collected in My Brother’s Blood:: Illustrated Haiku depict the glory of Bangladesh in all its seasons and the suffering as well as the sacrifice off its people during the liberation war im 1971. Written in haiku form juxtaposing two related images, each poem is accompanied by an illustration for a visual representation that appeals to both the senses and the intellect. They remind the reader of the cost the struggle for freedom exacted from our people.. It is all the more important at this cruciall juncture in our society when various violent forces wish to undo the primary goal of our independence, which was to create a modern secular society. Thus, these poems can help us remain faithful to the blood of those noble souls that gave their precious lives for our freedom and preserve our independence.
